Evelyn has a habit of taking random pictures with our smaller camera without us really noticing or realizing she is doing it. So when one of us uses it the next time it is always entertaining what we find. Many of pictures are of furniture or of her feet or other blurry things, but occasionally there are some really funny or even really good pictures. She has a way of capturing Nora, one of her picture I actually used in our Christmas card this year. Here are a few of her most recent. This is through the window in the dollhouse

We took another risk and my mom and I took the girls to the Art Museum another place where your expected to be on the quiet side. We took advantage of the warmer weather before we went and the girls being more cooperative than usual and took some pictures outside. Jeff doesn't like these hats, but we get more complements when either of the girls have them on and Evelyn at least likes to wear hers and pick out the flowers to put on.

After our successful trip we headed to Jilly's cupcake bar for lunch and cupcakes of course. Evelyn's eye's were much bigger than her stomach, but she had a great time. Nora is her mommas girl did not like the non chocolate ones!

Nutcracker Ballet

We went to see the Nutcracker Ballet thanks to G-ma Seeley for Evelyn's first time this year along with two of her cousins. I was nervous about taking her, for those of you who know her well can understand, being quiet is not her strong suit. She loved it, she was mesmerized the entire time.

The girls in their matching dresses G-ma Seeley got for the all the girls, they loved them and if either ever wants to be Annie for Halloween we are set at least for a few years.

It is not Christmas at our house at least without making a Gingerbread house and before it is even close to being finished, Evelyn is asking when she can eat it. They both eventually ate most of the candy off of it overtime..yuck. We have had so many other good treats and this is what they have wanted.

This is typically what Nora does while waiting for Evelyn after preschool, a few of my co-workers think its just awful that I would let her do this, but I'm always standing right by her and it keeps her entertained.

Evelyn is back in preschool again, has been back in school for about 2 weeks now. She is going to the free preschool within our district the same district I work with. She has the same teacher and many of the same kids in her class, but this year she goes 4 afternoons instead of just 2 mornings a week. She loves it and is always ready to run out the door when its time, by Thursday though when I pick her up she is dragging.

They were done, shortly after this Evelyn actually asked Jeff if we could go back to our "apartment" she called our hotel room, she was so tired, was also battling some asthma issues and an ear infection, but that didn't seem to slow her down too much.

Earlier in the day Jeff had to perform with the Ambassadors so we spent the morning in KC and met him for lunch before he performed. I just happened to read about this train place at the Crown Center the girls and I had just been at down the street. Thought it sounded like a good place to keep two tired girls entertained long enough to have some lunch and close enough to get Jeff back in time to sing. It was a big hit and the food was much better than we were expecting! Train delivering our lunch, Evelyn was really excited about this.

The girls and I had a few hours to kill after dropping Jeff off for rehearsal in the morning and I had read about this Hallmark place that is free to get into and they just have a bunch of different craft supplies out for the kids to create with, so we decided to give it a try. It was a really neat place. Evelyn really liked just looking around more than crafting, but had a great time and started getting into making things about the time our session was over. They were really great about letting her take things home to finish things though.

I have been a little slow to post lately since our new camera which is great, but now the files are much bigger uploading takes much longer I have been having some trouble getting pictures to upload on here. So am a little behind.
A while back Jeff's office did a little safety fair at his office in Illinois. Evelyn had a blast, they had lunch for everyone, bucket truck rides, a bounce house, a truck an dig with, and other activities. She really enjoyed seeing where daddy worked and talking with "friends" at work and even asked his boss for $5 which was a joke they had going. He had pointed her out earlier in the day and told her to go ask her for $5 and she wouldn't do it and later in the day we were talking with her and just out of the blue she asked her, I couldn't beleive she remembered. She had a great time and Jeff had an easy day at work.

This is the aftermath...notice the wad of toliet paper in her nose...she was so wound up running around the wrestling with "uncle Boo" her nose started bleeding, so this was our attempt to stop it without her having to stop. Her cute robe that she will probably never wear again. We had a wonderful Christmas overall, filled with great times with family and many new toys for everyone! I love experiencing Christmas through/with Evelyn, she was so into everything this year!

The highlight of the night, she choose to ride the donkey instead of the camel, which was great. The line wasn't nearly as long and we didn't have to pay for adult to go with her.

She was able to feed all types of animals carrot chips, which she loved. We had a great time and the lights were very pretty! A very nice man even gave her one of the little stuffed animals at the end.

We went to watch Jeff and the Ambassadors sing on Main st in Old St Charles. They sing in the parade they do and then a little skit and then do some caroling, which the weather is usually freezing so we took advantage of the warmer weather and went along. Evelyn enjoyed the popcorn we got while we were there and a small portion of the singing. She wasn't too interested in the characters and the santas. She was really into not liking the "boy santas" and only the "girl santas.Nora kind of looked like the boy from Christmas story who couldn't put his arms down, but she was happy the whole time we were there and she was warm.

Nora has not been the healthiest baby lately, we have been battling thrush and then pink eye. The thrush is much better, but just wasn't gone 100% so we took her in today to get her mouth "painted" with another medicine. They warned us it would be messy and would stain her mouth, so here she is. Not as bad as what I had pictured!

Height: 24 and some inches
Head size went up to the 34 % big jump from last time.

She didn't gain as much as she had the last appointment but nothing she was worried about she is at about 8% and 9% on the growth chart, but is staying close to her curve.

We have been meaning to get to Creve Coeur Lake to take Nora's picture in the same tree we have Evelyn's 5month pictures in. I knew it would be a little dark, but figured we could still get some pictures, which that was okay, but the tree was no longer there except the stump. This worked out okay though. I wish we would have video taped Evelyn trick or treating, but who would really want to watch all of that. She was so excited about going. She knocked on their door and immediately after opening the door her first thing was to ask "what is your dogs name?" if there was not a dog insight she would just ask if they had any pets. One house they were sitting outside and she is peeking through the windows and asking about their dog. She meet pretty much everyone in my mom's neighborhood that she could. Then we went back to my mom's house and she passed out candy. She was yelling at people at the top of court to come on over and get candy. She once tried to take the candy with her and I guess meet them half way or something. I tell ya we may have to sign her up for the neighborhood watch or something.
Now if we could only get her to learn there are times when asking numerous questions is not okay and that you need to just listen, like during dance class!

Today, Sunday Evelyn sang for the first time, we do have video but it is very long. It was also blessing of the stuffed animals during children's time.
Evelyn has wanted to put Nora in this since she was born. We have to put a blanket it so she stays up, but she really likes it for a few minutes. Nora if 5 months today...my how time has flown by!

Apple Picking

We finally had a chance to head out to Eckerts and attempt some apple picking, but we didn't have much luck they were pretty picked over at least we thought so. It didn't help that it was 85 degrees out, just not apple picking weather. Oh well we did manage to find some and Evelyn had a good time.

Nora seemed to enjoy herself for the most part, except when I would try to really dig in a tree for some good apples.

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Farm

Evelyn's preschool class took a trip to one of the pumpkin farms near us.

Most of the kiddos in her class that were there. None of them were really interested in taking a picture.

Ameren Safety Fair

Since Jeff now works for Ameren(Electric/Gas company) we were able to go to the safety fair, what a fair. If you know anyone who works for Ameren and doesn't use their tickets...bribe them for theirs!

This was how they had the kids practice stop, drop, and roll...as she rolled across the carpet the flames came off, it was neat idea.

This was the first time she actually wanted to get her face painted and she loved it! Cried that night when we had to wash it off.

They had little utility poles for the kids to practice climbing.

After hula hoops made from electrical conduit, goody bags filled with stuff, a ton of great food, many little goodies from various people. We ended the day with a ride on a bucket truck, well at least Evelyn and Jeff. They didn't have a harness small enough for Nora. They did not go the whole 100 feet, they stopped at 75. Evelyn loved it! Next year we are going to have to plan to be there the whole time.

Nora had her 4month check up last week, she is doing great!
11lbs 8oz and about 23 inches she is in the 10 percentile for weight and head size and 15 for lenght. She is following her curves very well just at the other end than Evelyn was!

We were okayed to start cereal, she seems soooo small sitting in the highchair, but we gave it a go anyways. This picture Evelyn actually took.

Evelyn's Preschool Field Trip

Evelyn's Preschool class went on a field trip last week to Little Creek our nature area in the district. In the fall they go and catch insects, go a nature walks, and see some of the animals that live there.

I'm pretty sure Jeff actually caught the bugs for her, but she seemed pretty pleased with herself anyways.

Nora and Preston are exactly 1 month apart, we are thinking future wedding bells! No pressure though!

The whole gang at least the girls and children. I can see the many years ahead and the fun/trouble these guys are going to get into when we all get together.

Evelyn's bestest buddy Dave, he does things like buy her snowcones, chase her around, and has a boat. She loves Dave!

One of Nora's first swinging experiences, she seemed to like it but was nervous at the same time. We happened upon this great little park on the way home in a small town in OK while looking for a McDonald's with a playland, this turned out so much nicer! I'm glad he didnt' find the McDonalds.

We took advantage of a slightly cooler weather forcast and headed to the zoo one early morning. We went straight in to see the stingrays. I am always surprised that Evelyn just dives right in to pet these guys..she probably would climb in with them if she could.

A Peacock...how exciting for her! She loves her toy ones, for awhile we took them everywhere we went.

We went to check out Chuckie Cheese last Saturday morning...going first thing in the morning there were only a handful of kids there, it was great...she had a ball!

Nora's 2 month check up

Nora had her 2 month dr appointment yesterday and is now weighing in at 9lbs 11 oz and is 22 inches long. She is moving up on the growth curve is now in 20% for weight and 30 % for length and head size. Everything looked great and her dr has no concerns for her as of now. I am glad that she is doing so well and is growing, but sad that is all going so fast also!

We went out Sunday to Warrenton at Lake Dogwood for Jeff's cousin Rick's Graduation party. The kids had a great time swimming.

Evelyn's ring suit is at g-ma Seeley's house so she was trying out some noodles for a little while, lucky for her Aunt Jamyn had a ring suit no one was using, she does really well even just with arm floaties on.

Nora is all ready 5 weeks old it is hard to believe. She is doing great! She enjoys sleeping, eating, and hates having her diaper changed. Evelyn is doing great also, she is sill very smitten with Nora and is very sweet with her.

At her 1 month check up Nora was 7lbs 7oz and over 2o inches long. She is moving up the growth curve and her dr is very pleased with how she is doing!

Week 3

Its hard to believe Nora is all ready 3 weeks old and she wasn't even supposed to be here yet. She is doing great! We were able to give Nora a bath, as you can see she really didn't like it much.

Evelyn decided she needed to have ALL of her toys surrounding her. Can only imagine the fun we have ahead of us! She is a sweet big sister though!

1st week at home

We went out to Washington to spend some time with family and to open Grandma Seeley's pool. Great Grandpa and Grandma Brown stopped by for a short visit and to meet Nora.

Snuggling up with her cousins(Allison and Jaden), the girls were very interested in Nora and holding her.

Sweet Sisters! Evelyn is just in love with Nora, a little jealous and still wound up from steroids, but really does love her.

We had our 1 week after released from NICU appointment with her dr. When she left the hospital she was 5lbs 14oz at her appt she was 6lbs 8oz. I was shocked, figured she had gained weight, but not that much. Dr was very pleased and said everything sounded good and she looked great!

We Welcome Nora Sue Seeley to our Family

Nora decided that she no longer was happy inside and it was time to join the outside world. They were evaluating her and me because she was not moving around much anymore. After only a few minutes of watching her heart rate drop after a contraction they decided she was coming 4 weeks early. They did a c-section and within about 2hrs and 15 minutes from my appointment Nora was born at 7:03 pm on May 17th 2010, weighing in at 5lbs 9oz 19.25inches long. She was not very excited about being in the outside world and having to breath on her own so to the NICU she went.

We signed Evelyn up for the Big Siblings class at the hospital. It was a neat little class and she was given a little backpack to fill with toys to bring to the hospital when she comes to visit and they talked about how they could help and some safety rules.

We toured the floor and she saw a room, where the snacks are, and the nursery. There was a new baby who they were still cleaning up so the baby was bright red. Evelyn really wanted to take the "pink baby" home. She really enjoyed looking at the babies and had a great time the whole class.

Evelyn was asked to be one of the seven dwarfs in the Florissant Barbershop show. One the others did not show so at the last minute Hailey was kind enough to fill in last minute.

We didn't get too many good pictures of them actually doing their part, but this was when they were coming out for the finale. Both girls did a great job playing their part and really enjoyed themselves. Evelyn was bowing each time the audience clapped for anyone, I'm sure she thought they were all clapping for her.

A trip to Decatur IL to visit Jeff

For those who do not know. Jeff has been training for a new job which is a very good thing, but takes him to Decatur IL for a weeks at a time. So while on spring break Evelyn and I took a little trip up to visit with him. We were walking around Decatur lake enjoying the nice weather. She really wasn't enjoying having her picture taken.

Evelyn and I spent a morning at the children's museum there. She thought Ronald was very funny.

Fixing the car. This was a lot of fun...the kids could change the tires, work under the car, work on the engine changing filters and adding fluids.

Evelyn really wanted to help paint the nursery so Jeff taped her off a section and we covered the floor and let her at it. She had a great time and lasted much longer than we expected. She still wants to know when we are painting the ceiling blue with clouds of course. Our annual OU bowling event. She didn't last too long with the actual bowling but had a great time with the other kiddos, food, pool tables, and music.

Evelyn and Jeff ever since watching Mary Poppins have been waiting to go fly kites. So we took advantage of the nice weather one Saturday and decent winds. We also took her bike to ride around the track, b/c we figured she wouldn't last very long. Well about an hour later we had to practically drag her home. The field we went to is right across the street from her "school" so now when I pick her up she wants to know when we can fly kites again.

Thought it was time to get some pictures and such up on Evelyn's wall...needed to finish her room before we could start the baby's room. These pictures are made from some of her finger painting pictures.

Her picket fence headboard Jeff made with her letters above. Evelyn says they say "I Love You" We are working on the letters and that it is her name.

This was Jeff big project during our snow day. We needed more counter space and cabinet space so we took out the kitchen table and adding a row of cabinets. Look past the mess, we haven't gotten it all put together yet.

We had a very nice and very productive snow day this week. Jeff happened to be off also and Evelyn was a in great mood all day and ready just to play. She came home from Grandma Seeleys this weekend with a pony tail in her hair like her cousin Kate who is 1yr old. Since then she wants her hair up in pigtails now. We managed to make it for almost 3 yrs without having to do anything with her hair. Think this is the end of that though, which is fine.

Our productive part, putting more cabinets in the kitchen...Evelyn loved helping.

Her puppy train she put together. I had not realized we had so many stuffed puppies until she collected them and these were only from upstairs.

Christmas Day

Santa brought Evelyn a dollhouse this year, she was very excited and took her awhile before she would open any presents.

Same at my moms she opened up a Barbie doll with Doggies and was done she didn't want anything else until much later and with much encouragment from cousin Hailey

We were able to visit Hunter Christmas Eve morning which was nice. He was very excited to see Evelyn and she was very concerned about him. The therapy dog came for a visit while we were there, which Evelyn thinks is Pongo from 101 dalmations so was just crazy about Nel, Hunter likes it when they come visit also.

At Grandma Seeleys getting ready to open presents, she really got into the whole present thing this year and could hardly stand having to wait.

The 3 older girl cousins with their dolls. Aunt Jenny was taking their picture and told them to say princess which Evelyn replied "Mermaid" She is something else!

Our Trip to the Magic House

Thanks to Grandma Kitty and her passes we made a trip out to the magic house for the price of just one of us...it was a great day. They open at 10:30 on a few days a week for ages 1-6. It was perfect the areas that were open were the areas she really enjoyed and then we spent some time later in the other areas. Water play area

She did some fishing.

She actually got to stand inside a bubble and she was able to pull it up herself if we started it for her.

One of her favorite activities, there was air blowing out that would blow the air up, here Jeff and her were plugging some of the holes to make the one go up higher.

Evelyn did not enjoy this activity as much, but Jeff and I and others in the room were in tears we were laughing so hard. This just shows how much hair she really has even though it doesn't look like much.

Trip to Build a Bear

We took a trip to Build a Bear last Friday night in hopes to say bye bye to Evelyn's "minkies" as she calls them. We wanted to long gone before baby comes in June. I had heard of people putting them in the paws of an animal and that helped so they could still feel the binky. Well Evelyn was all set until I got them out and started to put them in the horse she picked out, she then took the horse back and threw it back in the bin and told me to put them back in the bag and walked out to the fountain. So after a long discussion she put 3 in the trash can and we saved one to put in the bunny she picked out. She really had a great time making the animal and was happy when we left. She is doing pretty well without her binky and I have only had the to sew the bunny back up once so far. She is too smart, she knew exactly where to try after watching the lady sew it up.

A Little Late...Oklahoma Trip/Halloween

We took a trip down to OKC over Halloween weekend for a baby shower for one my college roommates. Christy and Dave were once again very gracious hosts and entertained Evelyn for hours...it took Evelyn about 30 seconds to decide she loved Dave. Both Christy and Dave work on the Airforce base in OK and Dave actually works on the airplanes, so we got the royal tour. We were able to tour a big tanker plane..sorry Dave do not remember the real name. I think Jeff and I were more impressed, but Evelyn enjoyed driving the plane.

I was really surprised she did this. She was feeding the elephant a peanut and then in return the elephant gave the kids some candy. It was a fun and safe way to spend Halloween and was perfect for her.
